Guests stayed at luxury boutique hotel Halcyon House, set behind the sand dunes of Cabarita Beach. They relaxed on the deck of the Banksia Room before being whisked away in vintage Kombi’s to the luxury hinterland property of Genola De Jong and Simon Fitzpatrick outside of Newrybar. With its white washed walls and coastal vista, it was the perfect setting for an afternoon of cocktails by the pool followed by a contemporary Australian dinner under the open night sky.
Prior to our launch, we had the pleasure of meeting Master Distiller, Eddie Brooke, at The Cape Byron Distillery. The Brooke family have planted over 35,000 native and subtropical plants over the past 30 years and are committed to protecting and regenerating the rainforest that provides the Gin’s very ingredients. First hand we experienced the subtle aromas of each ingredient, from base notes of Juniper to delicate top notes of lemon myrtle and native ginger. Their commitment to high quality, sustainably sourced ingredients is closely aligned to the BEAR brand philosophy and we look forward to working together closely into the future.
Guests enjoyed a similar experience with an afternoon gin tasting workshop that ignited the senses, relaxing poolside on beautiful styled moroccan rugs and ottomans from Tigme Trading surrounded by a sea of native wild flowers carefully curated by local florist Braer.
